I have so many projects lined up to share! My schedule was really full the last couple weeks of school, and then during the first week of summer vacation me and my family traveled to the USA. We went to Oregon and it was great there! We even brought our dog. When I got back I found out I’d gotten 3 awards in school: 2 medals and a certificate for straight A’s. This medal is gold for Grade 9 clothing and textiles.
There was a beautiful double rainbow today.
In the hills in the background there are usually cows. Once in awhile I hear them and it is so loud it sounds like they are right next to my ear. Anyway, the cows are usually out there but when the weather is bad they vanish. Maybe there is a secret emergency exit? I guess I’ll never know 🙂
I also have a small project:
I bought the purse frame from etsy and the pattern is something I created. The frame was supposed to come with loops on the sides to attach a chain, but it didn’t so I sewed a ribbon on the inside. The frame is also crooked, which is because I sewed it on a but too the side. But I decided not to redo it because it took quite a while to stitch it on. The fabric is also leftover from the shorts I made a little while ago.
Yesterday I walked up the stairway to Heaven. It’s known for having a lot of steps, 282 to be exact. I thought I’d share some pictures. The first ones are taken a little over half way up.
So, that’s it! I don’t know why but whenever I see a snail its just kind if exciting. And the last one was pretty.
Hello! I’ve got another project from my sewing class to share, which I’ve been really excited about! Before I do I would like to apologize for my lack of creativity when it comes to naming my projects- I think long and hard and then presto! I name them how I see them. The weather has been slightly miserable these last few days, so that is why I’m holding my umbrella even though it was sunny. Plus it makes a cute prop. Hopefully these won’t disappoint!
They are denim shirts with a high waist and a fit that reminds me of a different decade. If you saw my last project, you’ll know it was too big on me and these shorts, unfortunately, were a tad loose in the back. For the purpose of these photos I pulled all the extra fabric to one place so from the front they appear to fit perfectly. My mom is going to help me see them in soon so I can wear them out and about.
I think they will be perfect for summer vacation when I go to Oregon! And I’d like to add one last note- Happy Mother’s Day! I hope it was a good one! My mom has to go to work later today but she was so happy when we surprised her with flowers!
Hello! I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to write in, well, a really long time. I also haven’t had any projects to post for awhile, but that is about to change! I’ve started my sewing class, 2 weeks ago actually, and this is one of my first completed projects! Huh? One of the firsts? I’ve made a few small draw string bags, 2 bags for grade one students at the elementary school nearby, and my boxer shorts just need elastic in the casing, which my sewing teacher seems to have forgotten. So, this is really the first project worth sharing. I’m really proud of it.
Well, it’s 2011! I always make several resolutions for the new year, but stop a few months in. But this year I’m doing it differently:
1.) Keep my room clean. My mom is always pestering me to clean my bedroom, and it doesn’t really work out. If my room is kept clean, it can be painted a different colour, so I want to keep this one.
2.) Make time for sewing. Ever since I learned how to knit, it’s all I ever do! I want to do more sewing this year.
3.) Stop reading so much! Most people probably wouldn’t put this as a resolution, but I’m such a bookworm. I always read my books really fast so I want to slow down and not rush through it. Plus, I’ll get more sleep, instead of reading till 11 or 12 pm.
4.) Get straight A´s. No explanation needed.
5.) Keep my resolutions!
Now that I’ve told you my resolutions, I can get on with today’s post. Of course, it’s some more knitting.
They were really easy to make, that is, once I got it right. It took me 3 tries. The first pair was too big, then the second attempt was too small. I guess 3 times a charm. By the way, happy New Year. What are your resolutions?
Well, it’s Christmas Eve! I can’t believe it has come so fast. It looks as though this year will be a white Christmas, which is nice because last year it was green and that is quite unusual in Canada. I haven’t posted in quite a while, but I have been crafting! Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures so you will have to use your imagination. I’ve knitted a cell phone case for my mom, kind of a last-minute gift, and I’ve knitted a bow for myself. The bow is quite similar to my ‘mini bows’ but not so small. My next project, I’m thinking, will be some nice hand warmers to match my cowl neck. I’d love to make mittens but I haven’t the slightest idea how to go about it. Hope everyone enjoys this Christmas!
